Cookie Policy

Last updated: · Automations Lab di Federico Donati, Via Peirce 56, 00139 Roma · VAT IT17790701001

This Cookie Policy describes the cookies and similar technologies used on automationslab.it, what they are for and how you can manage your choices. It is provided in line with the GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and the Italian data protection authority's guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021.

1. A note before you start

The date of the last update to this policy (3 September 2026) is shown at the top of the page. It reflects the tools actually in use on the site, but we still recommend having it reviewed by a legal professional before relying on it fully.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device through your browser. They let the site remember information between visits (for example the choice you made on the banner) or collect data on how the site is used. They can be first-party, set by automationslab.it, or third-party, set by external services we have integrated.

Alongside cookies we use the browser's session storage, a temporary memory area that is cleared when the tab is closed. We use it only so that you do not lose what you have typed in the form if you change page before submitting it.

The data controller is Automations Lab di Federico Donati, Via Peirce 56, 00139 Rome, Italy, VAT IT17790701001, email federico@automationslab.it. For everything concerning how personal data is processed, please see the Privacy Policy.

3. How consent works

On your first visit we show a banner that lets you accept all cookies, reject them, or choose category by category. Until you make a choice, no non-essential cookie is set and no analytics or marketing script is loaded.

If you close the banner with the X, or keep browsing without choosing, the site keeps the default setting: technical cookies only. Rejecting cookies does not degrade your browsing experience in any way.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page. Withdrawal takes effect immediately for cookies set from that moment on; to remove cookies already stored, use the browser settings described below.

Your choice is stored for 6 months in the al_consent cookie. After that period the banner is shown again.

4. Technical cookies (always on)

These are the cookies and technologies strictly necessary for the site to work. They do not require your consent under the ePrivacy rules.

- al_consent: a first-party cookie that stores the preferences you expressed on the banner, so we do not have to ask again on every visit. Duration: 6 months. - Form session storage: temporarily keeps in your browser the fields you filled in on the audit request form and the ROI calculator while the tab stays open. It is not sent to any third party and is cleared when the tab is closed. - Vercel Web Analytics: the hosting provider collects aggregate visit statistics (page views, country, device type) without setting cookies and without identifying individual visitors. This is part of the measures needed to deliver and monitor the service.

5. Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4

Only if you accept the Analytics category does the site load Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC that helps us understand how the site is used: most visited pages, navigation paths, traffic sources, form submission rate.

In GA4, IP addresses are truncated and anonymised by default and are neither logged nor stored. Google acts as a processor on our behalf; data may be transferred to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, to which Google LLC is certified.

We have not enabled Google Analytics advertising features (Google Signals) and we do not link GA4 data to other Google accounts. Besides the Cookie preferences link, you can also opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on that Google makes available.

6. Marketing cookies: Meta Pixel and Conversions API

Only if you accept the Marketing category does the site activate the Meta Pixel and the Meta Conversions API, tools provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd (4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin, Ireland).

We use them for two purposes: measuring the results of our advertising campaigns on Facebook and Instagram (for example how many people who saw an ad later requested an audit) and building advertising audiences, that is groups of users with characteristics similar to those who visited the site, to whom our ads can be shown.

The Pixel works through cookies set by your browser; the Conversions API sends the same events (page visit, form submission) from our server to Meta, again only after you have consented. Meta may link this data to your profile if you hold a Meta account and may process it in the United States, under the safeguards described in its privacy policy and the Data Privacy Framework.

You can also control how Meta uses your data from the ad settings of your Facebook or Instagram account.

7. List of cookies

Format: name — purpose — duration — category.

- al_consent — stores the preferences expressed on the cookie banner — 6 months — technical, first-party. - Session storage (not a cookie) — temporarily keeps form and ROI calculator fields — until the tab is closed — technical, first-party. - _ga — distinguishes visitors for Google Analytics 4 statistics — 2 years — analytics, Google LLC. - _ga_<ID> — maintains Google Analytics 4 session state — 2 years — analytics, Google LLC. - _fbp — identifies the browser for the Meta Pixel for measurement and audience building — 3 months — marketing, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. - _fbc — stores the click identifier of the Meta ad that brought you to the site — 3 months — marketing, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.

Vercel Web Analytics sets no cookies. Durations of third-party cookies are decided by the respective providers and may change; in case of discrepancy, the official Google and Meta documentation prevails.

8. Managing cookies in your browser

Besides the Cookie preferences link in the footer, you can control and delete cookies directly in your browser. Every browser lets you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, or delete those already stored.

- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data. - Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data. - Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data (on iPhone and iPad: Settings > Safari). - Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions.

Bear in mind that if you block all cookies, including al_consent, the banner will appear on every visit and some preferences may not be remembered.

For third-party cookies you can also use the providers' own opt-out tools: the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on and the ad preferences in your Meta account.

9. Third parties and data transfers

Google LLC and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd process the data collected through their tools under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read: Google (policies.google.com/privacy) and Meta (facebook.com/privacy/policy). For analytics, Google acts as a processor on our behalf; for the Pixel and Conversions API, Meta may act for certain activities as an independent or joint controller, as described in its business tools terms.

Both providers may transfer data to the United States. Transfers rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, failing that, on the Standard Contractual Clauses.

The site's other technical providers (Vercel, Make.com, Supabase, Google Workspace) set no cookies through the site and are described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Your rights

In relation to data collected through cookies and similar technologies you can exercise the rights set out in Articles 15 to 22 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.

The quickest way to withdraw consent is the Cookie preferences link in the footer. For any other request write to federico@automationslab.it or to the certified email address automationslab@pec.it.

If you believe your data is being processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority in your country, or bring the matter before a court.

11. Legal framework and updates

This policy is drawn up in accordance with: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR); Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy Directive) as transposed in Italy by Art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018; and the guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Italian data protection authority on 10 June 2021.

We may update this policy when the tools we use or the applicable rules change. Changes are published on this page with a new date; if we introduce cookies in a category you have not yet authorised, the banner will be shown again to ask for fresh consent.
